UPM 1 (Fray Bentos) is recognized as one of the most advanced and controlled pulp mill in the world, standing out for its solid environmental performance. Montes del Plata has the second highest annual production in the country and UPM 2 (Paso de los Toros), the third largest pulp mill in the region, inaugurated in 2023.
